Mike Evans is the most valued player in PPR leagues

The Broncos got beaten up all over the field by the Raiders last week. Sunday Night Football, primetime, the Black Hole, an emerging team... The odds were stacked in Oakland's favor. They didn’t disappoint. They ran all over a very good Denver defense and won the game. Denver had some key starters missing, but at this point in the year, who doesn’t? Sometimes the stars align and crazy things happen. I would’ve guessed Carr would have had 300 yards and four TD’s against Denver’s depleted secondary before I thought Latavius Murray would have 114 yards and 3 TD’s.

Blake Bortles was highly ranked coming into the season. Jacksonville was supposed to be a contender. They were supposed to have a high powered offense and some key additions to the defensive line. It hasn’t panned out. Save for the last two weeks, Bortles isn’t a fantasy starter. Allen Robinson is arguably the only Jacksonville player that has fantasy value. It was supposed to be Bortles, Yeldon, Robinson, Hurns and Julius Thomas. Thomas is probably a starter if you need him to be.

Things don’t always go the way you planned. Melvin Gordon went from zero TD’s last year to leading the NFL in TD’s this year. DeAndre Hopkins went from must start every week to maybe you have a player with a better matchup. The cream rises to the top. This year has seen many, many superstars go down with injuries. In my very first post this season, I said there’s a good chance your league championship will be won on the waiver wire. Who picked up Dak, Tevin Coleman, Ty Montgomery, Terrelle Pryor, or Mike Wallace? Most of those guys probably went undrafted. Who used their FAAB bucks the best, or got lucky with Jordan Howard?

Every week so far I have streamed a DST. It has worked out for me this year and I believe I’ll do it again in the future. People who have streamed QB’s this year seem to have had success too. I’m not sure the NORB rule has worked this year. The top guys are the top guys and the guys you waited and waited and waited on aren’t performing, except maybe Blount and Howard. This week I am going to stream the Chargers DST. San Diego may be the most underrated team in the NFL. They are a whole new beast with Joey Bosa playing full speed. They have an excellent matchup at home against Miami. Miami may not have Jarvis Landry. No one thinks Ryan Tannehill can do much and Jay Ajayi can’t do it all himself. Teams traveling coast to coast tend to not do so well. The Bolts are going to stop Miami this week.

Get your team ready for the playoffs. If you’re in a keeper league, there is a lot to consider. Know the rules of your league. Do you want to trade for someone to make them your keeper? Are you satisfied with your roster enough to have a keeper? Does your keeper take out a certain draft pick? What is the value of Dez Bryant as a 1st rounder or Devontae Booker as a 16th rounder? I can’t stress it enough, know the rules of your league!
