San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams

6:30 PM

LAR -3.5 (-123)

O/U 45.5 (-108)

San Francisco is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 road games

Los Angeles is 7-2 SU in its last 9 January games

The UNDER is 6-1 in San Francisco’s last 7 games

49ers News & Notes

The 49ers defense was able to hold Aaron Rodgers in check last Saturday, limiting the likely back-to-back MVP winner to 225 passing yards and no touchdown passes in a 13-10 upset win as 6-point road underdogs.

San Francisco tied the game 10-10 with a blocked punt returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and then won the game on a field goal as time expired. Jimmy Garoppolo went just 11-for-19 with 131 passing yards, no touchdown passes and an interception in the victory.

San Francisco is now 4-0 SU and ATS over its last four games, including a 3-0 SU and ATS record in its last three games as an underdog. The 49ers have won each of their last four games as an underdog outright, including two wins as 3.5-point underdogs against the Rams.

Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel were both banged up against the Packers, but neither was seriously hurt and both are currently expected to play on Sunday.

San Francisco are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 6 of San Francisco's last 7 games.

San Francisco are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games.

San Francisco are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against LA Rams.

Rams News & Notes

The Rams appeared to have their divisional-round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers well in hand with a 27-3 lead in the second half, but a series of errors and mistakes gave Tom Brady and the Buccaneers new life and allowed them to tie the game at 27-27 with 42 seconds left. Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp connected for two deep passes in those 42 seconds to get Los Angeles into field-goal range, and the Rams escaped with a 30-27 road win.

Stafford is now 41-for-55 with 568 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions this postseason. Kupp hauled in nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers.

Los Angeles should be a popular 49ers vs Rams prediction given the team’s strong play on both sides of the ball and their 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS record over their last eight games, but it’s hard to ignore San Francisco’s dominance in this head-to-head series.

LA Rams are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games.

LA Rams are 7-1 SU in their last 8 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of LA Rams' last 6 games against San Francisco.

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of LA Rams' last 6 games at home.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs

3:00 PM

KC -7 (-108)

O/U 54 (-108)

Cincinnati is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 road games

Kansas City is 11-1 SU in its last 12 games

The OVER is 7-1 in Kansas City’s last 8 games

Bengals News & Notes

Joe Burrow will get plenty of attention this week in most Bengals vs Chiefs prediction articles, but the bigger key to Cincinnati’s 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS run over its last six games may have been the play of the Bengals defense. Cincy’s stop unit set up the game-winning field goal in last week’s 19-16 win at Tennessee by intercepting Ryan Tannehill near midfield, one of three Bengals picks in the contest.

Cincinnati has now allowed 21 points or less in regulation time in six of its last seven games and eight of 10. The defense helped Burrow and the offense overcome a playoff-record nine sacks allowed, exposing a Cincy offensive line that has been an issue all year. Coach Zach Taylor took some of the blame after the game, saying he needs to call plays that allow Burrow to get the ball out quicker.

Rookie kicker Evan McPherson also came up huge, hitting all four of his field-goal attempts, two of them from 50-plus yards. McPherson is now 8-for-8 in the postseason, although the Bengals don’t want to settle for field goals too often this week against the high-scoring Chiefs.

Cincinnati are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Cincinnati's last 7 games.

Cincinnati are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games.

Cincinnati are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games against Kansas City.

Chiefs News & Notes

It took awhile for Kansas City’s offense to get going this year, but now the attack looks as good as it ever has with Mahomes under center. Last week’s wild 42-36 overtime win over Buffalo was the second straight game in which KC hung 42 points on an opponent, and Denver is the only team to hold the Chiefs under 31 points in their last seven games.

Mahomes dominated the headlines last week after driving the Chiefs 44 yards in 10 seconds for the tying field goal at the end of regulation, but don’t sleep on KC’s running game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran for 60 yards on seven carries and Jerick McKinnon added 78 total yards on 15 touches as the Chiefs finished with 182 rushing yards.

Defensively, things aren’t as pretty right now for KC, especially if star defensive back Tyrann Mathieu can’t play against Cincinnati after leaving last week’s game with a concussion. The Chiefs secondary allowed Gabriel Davis to set an NFL playoff record with four receiving touchdowns and gave up 329 yards through the air on the night. Kansas City’s last eight games have seen an average of 60.4 points scored, with seven of them going OVER.

Kansas City are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games.

The total has gone OVER in 7 of Kansas City's last 7 games.

Kansas City are 11-1 SU in their last 12 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 9 of Kansas City's last 12 games against Cincinnati.
