New York Jets @ Minnesota Vikings

1:00 PM

MIN -3 (+100)

O/U 44 (-112)

New York is 6-2 SU and ATS in its last 8 games.

Minnesota is 6-1 SU in its last 7 home games.

Minnesota is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 vs AFC teams.

Jets News & Notes

The Jets enjoyed the benefit of facing an injury-plagued opponent last weekend, with the Bears having to make do without rising star quarterback Justin Fields in their visit to New York. After Chicago briefly seized an early lead by scoring on its first two drives, the offense struggled to get going against a steady New York defense that kept the Bears pinned well inside their own territory until garbage time.

The Jets have not allowed a scoring run in 10 quarters and have yielded just one touchdown pass over the past three games. The defensive line has been particularly ferocious, racking up 19 sacks over the past four games. That has contributed to the team’s steady performance after recess, allowing just 10 total points over the past three games.

The big question facing this team is who will be guiding the offense when they hit the field Sunday. Zach Wilson quickly fell out of favor with his coaches and teammates in the wake of some eyebrow-raising comments following the team’s 10-3 loss in New England two weeks ago.

Wilson was benched in favor of Mike White, who tossed for three TDs and 315 yards vs Chicago. That performance should be good enough to garner him a second start, but White must avoid the accuracy issues that led to eight interceptions in his four appearances under center last season.

Faced with uncertainty under center, at least until Mike White proves worthy of a prolonged audition for a team in playoff contention, the Jets need another big performance from the defense. That means steady harassment of the largely immobile Kirk Cousins and extending their current two-game stretch without a turnover.

NY Jets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of NY Jets' last 6 games.

NY Jets are 6-2 SU in their last 8 games.

NY Jets are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games against Minnesota.

Vikings News & Notes

The Vikings rebounded from a brutal 40-3 beating by the visiting Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago by outlasting the New England Patriots last week. The lead changed hands five times in that contest, with the Vikings eking out the win on the strength of an Adam Thielen TD reception with less than four minutes remaining.

Thielen’s catch came at the end of his busiest day this season, with the 32-year-old receiver catching nine passes on 10 targets. The game-winning score marked Thielen’s first touchdown in five games and just his second on home turf this season. Meanwhile, Justin Jefferson made a scoring catch for the third time in four games while compiling 139 yards and has now topped the century mark in six of his last eight outings.

Last week’s contest also marked somewhat of a breakthrough for Kirk Cousins. The Vikings pivot threw for a season-high three touchdowns and completed 81.1 percent of his pass attempts, also a season high. Overall, Cousins has thrown for multiple scores in four of seven home dates this season.

The Vikings had no answer for a seemingly unstoppable Cowboys defensive line in their loss to Dallas, with Kirk Cousins getting sacked seven times. The Minnesota offensive line must do a far better job of offering Cousins more time and space, and the Vikings rushers must be more productive after generating fewer than 75 yards and failing to score in three of the past four games.

Minnesota are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games.

The total has gone OVER in 13 of Minnesota's last 19 games.

Minnesota are 8-1 SU in their last 9 games.

The total has gone OVER in 5 of Minnesota's last 7 games against NY Jets.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals

4:25 PM

KC -2.5 (-115)

O/U 53 (-105)

Kansas City is 5-0 SU in its last 5 vs winning teams.

Cincinnati is 5-1 SU in its last 6 vs winning teams.

Kansas City is 1-6 SU in its last 7 vs Cincinnati.

Chiefs News & Notes

Now winners of five straight, the Chiefs go on the road after beating the visiting Los Angeles Rams and backup quarterback Bryce Perkins 26-10.

MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes completed 27 of 42 pass attempts for 320 yards, one score and one interception. The one pick and KC’s relative ineffectiveness in the red zone was the main reason the contest was as close as it was.

The production of Isiah Pacheco in the backfield has been a welcome sight as Andy Reid continues to put more trust in the rookie running back, who has been able to alleviate some of the pressure on Mahomes. Pacheco carried the ball 22 times for 69 yards and a score against the Rams.

With Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore all getting involved in the pass game, the Kansas City offense continues to thrive, ranking first in scoring, passing yards and yards per play. More of the same will be needed if they are to avenge two losses to the Bengals last season, including the 27-24 overtime defeat in the AFC title tilt.

With Mixon out, Samaje Perine has been effective, following up a strong game in Pittsburgh with 58 rushing yards and 35 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Titans. Meanwhile, Tee Higgins has been Burrow’s No. 1 target with back-to-back 100-yard games and scored a major vs Tennessee.

The Bengals are third in scoring offense, fourth in passing yards and second in time of possession. Expect the Cincinnati attack to be highly effective in this potential playoff matchup.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Kansas City's last 6 games.

Kansas City are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games.

Kansas City are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Cincinnati.

Kansas City are 1-6 SU in their last 7 games against Cincinnati.

It’s hard to imagine a team with more weapons than the Chiefs, but the Bengals have them. In order to slow Cincinnati down, Kansas City must win the time of possession battle, a category in which they rank seventh in the NFL. This is where the Bengals squeeze the life out of opponents, but if their offense is not on the field, they can do no damage.

Stopping Travis Kelce and making one of the wide receivers beat them should be the Bengals’ main goal. Slot corner Mike Hilton may serve as a key player in this one. Mahomes has been known for the occasional wayward throw and just one may be enough to tilt the tide in the direction of Cincinnati.

Cincinnati are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 11 of Cincinnati's last 16 games.

Cincinnati are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Cincinnati's last 13 games against Kansas City.

MONDAY NIGHT

New Orlean Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

8:15 PM

TB -3.5 (-110)

O/U 40.5 (-105)

New Orleans is 7-1 SU in the last 8 regular-season meetings.

Tampa Bay is 1-5-1 ATS and 3-4 SU in its last 7 home games.

The UNDER is 3-1 in the past 4 meetings.

Saints News & Notes

The Saints were shut out for the first time since 2001 last week, and it will not get much easier for them this Monday when they visit the Buccaneers. They simply cannot afford to have running back Alvin Kamara fumble twice like he did against the 49ers, and quarterback Andy Dalton (four carries for 21 yards) definitely cannot be their leading rusher.

Kamara, fellow running back Mark Ingram and quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill combined to run the ball 17 times for 36 yards, and that must improve at Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have struggled to stop the run this season, giving up 123.2 yards per game on the ground. And they just gave up 189 to the Browns on 34 carries (5.6 average).

New Orleans has held Tampa Bay to 20 points or less in three of the past four regular-season meetings. In two of those games, the Buccaneers scored three points or less, which should give the Saints some confidence heading into this one. Even in last week’s loss at San Francisco, the 49ers scored only one touchdown, and New Orleans had more than its fair share of opportunities to get on the scoreboard. A similar performance in this spot vs a struggling offensive team might be enough to at least cover.

New Orleans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of New Orleans' last 5 games.

New Orleans are 3-8 SU in their last 11 games.

New Orleans are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games against Tampa Bay.

Bucs News & Notes

Around this time last year, Tampa Bay was cruising and looked like one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFC as the defending champions with one of the NFL MVP favorites in Tom Brady. Then New Orleans came to town and won 9-0 in the Week 15 Sunday Night Football game, pulling off a massive upset as an 11.5-point road underdog. The Saints beat the Buccaneers for the seventh consecutive time during the regular season and the fourth in a row with Brady under center.

Tampa Bay ended that series skid with a 20-10 road victory in Week 2 as a 2.5-point favorite, but that meeting was also close until the fourth quarter and saw wide receiver Mike Evans ejected after an altercation with New Orleans cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Evans was suspended one game for his actions, so it is definitely safe to say there is bad blood here.

Tampa Bay has scored 19 points or more in four of its five wins this year, while going 1-4 SU and 0-4-1 ATS when scoring less. The offense has been a major disappointment for the Buccaneers and must find a way to come alive against an opponent that has given them trouble. Keep in mind, the Saints gave up 20 points or more in their previous four road games before playing the 49ers – losing three of them – so hitting that number is the key.

Tampa Bay are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Tampa Bay's last 7 games.

Tampa Bay are 3-6 SU in their last 9 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Tampa Bay's last 5 games against New Orleans.
